ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 22-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team ran its all-time record to 10-0 against Nebraska, winning four singles matches to erase a 1-0 Husker lead in a 4-1 victory on Friday afternoon (April 15) at the Varsity Tennis Center.

U-M got out to a fast start in doubles behind a 6-0 win from Jaedan Brown and Julia Fliegner at the No. 2 spot. Nebraska countered with a pair of 6-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the 1-0 advantage after doubles.

Brown and Fliegner carried their momentum from doubles into singles play as the first two Wolverines off court.

Brown tied up the team match with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2. In the first set, she jumped out to a 3-0 lead en route to the win. In the second set, she got the break she needed at 4-3 and backed it up in the next game. She had three match points on Maja Makoric's serve, cashing in on the third to account for Michigan's first point.

Fliegner followed moments later with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 to give the Wolverines their first lead of the day. She used strong starts in both sets for Michigan's second point, breaking Vivien Sandberg in the final game for the win.

Gala Mesochoritou was the third victorious Wolverine off court with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6. She was up 3-0 in the first set before falling behind 5-4. She broke Ellie Kuckelman to stay in the set, winning the final three games to wrap up a 7-5 win. In the second set, Mesochoritou ripped off four straight games for a 4-1 lead. She held on the deuce point at 5-2 and broke Kuckelman in the final game for Michigan's third point.

Andrea Cerdan clinched the win for the Maize and Blue with a 6-1, 7-6 (4) win at No. 4. After breezing to a first-set win, Cerdan was down 4-2 in the second set before winning two straight games to tie the set. The players held serve the rest of the way as Cerdan held at 5-6 to force the tiebreaker.

In the breaker, Cerdan won the first two points, including one on a point penalty for a 2-0 lead. The tiebreaker was tied at 3-3 at the changeover, before Cerdan won three straight points for three match points. She came through on her second match point, clinching the win for the Maize and Blue.
