Can you spare some food?

The Department of Veteran Affairs is asking for the public’s help to feed needy families by way of the 2020 Feds Feed Families Food Drive.

The drive, which runs through July 31 due to COVID-19, helps food pantries and food banks stay stocked during the summer months, when they traditionally see a decrease in donations and an increase in need through donations of food. It also brings awareness to issues of hunger.

This year’s campaign highlights the need for giving during summer months and all year long. Summer months can be challenging for the nearly 30 million children who receive free and reduced-price meals during the school year. Since Feds Feed Families launched in 2009, this campaign has collected more than 92 million pounds of food for donation.

In 2019 alone, the campaign donated 2.8 million pounds.

Sacramento Valley National Cemetery will have a food can available to collect items for folks in Solano.

  1. The second contractors estimate was $1200 lower, very easy choice right? Wrong! The second contractor showed up and asked my friend if he could borrow a tape measure! Are you kidding me?
