Feed ingredient producer Corbion has expanded its team with three new appointments aimed at accelerating commercialization of omega-3 ingredients beyond the salmon industry into shrimp, marine fish, pet and livestock markets.
After four years with Corbion as senior vice president of food, Ruud Peerbooms was named president of algae ingredients to expand the algae business and oversee the company's partnerships for the development of the next generation of algae ingredients.
Corbion hired Geir Ivar Lanes as its senior development manager of AlgaPrime DHA in salmonid feed.
Lanes has spent the past 21 years managing Norway's Havbrukskontroll, a consulting company working with aquaculture farmers and suppliers within broodstock, smolt, and net pen production.
Corbion also hired Paula Arriagada Strodthoff from Cargill-owned EWOS Chile, where she was responsible for developing field trials and nutritional solutions for salmon. She was named senior business development manager for Chile.
In November, Corbion announced a new partnership with Nestle, launching into the first stage of research into the development of microalgae-based ingredients for plant-based food products.
