Imports of livestock feed raw material stood at 2.52 million tons worth $653.1 million during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 20-May 20), which show 1% and 12% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, according to the latest figures released by the Livestock and Poultry Feed Importers Association.
More than 1.78 million tons of corn worth $422.76 million were imported over the two-month period, indicating an 18% and 14% year-on-year rise respectively.
Around 387,830 tons of barley worth $93.46 million were imported to register a 25% and 18% YOY decline respectively.
Some 347,000 tons worth more than $136.880 million of soymeal were also imported during the same period, which indicate a 37% and 44% YOY decline respectively.
