Sporting KC comes from behind to down the Dynamo with full crowd - The Blue Testament

Sporting Kansas City secured another win from behind in tonight’s game against Houston Dynamo, winning 3-2. This became their 4th win coming from a losing position this season.

The game started out with a 4th minute Houston Dynamo yellow card to Derrick Jones. The dramatics escalated with a 13th minute Houston goal by Matias Vera. Roger Espinoza almost scored the first goal for Sporting KC on a good chance with a volley. Houston gained another yellow card, this time to Vera in the 42nd minute.

The second half started out exciting with a 51st minute goal by Gianluca Busio off a free kick. The Dynamo nearly scored with a 2 on 1 opportunity in the 57th minute, which was saved by Tim Melia and cleared by Graham Zusi sweeping back. Sporting KC was awarded a penalty from a foul on Alan Pulido. Pulido put the ball in the back of the net, scoring the penalty kick in the 61st minute.

Gadi Kinda scored what would end up being Sporting’s winning goal in the 65th minute.

Houston secured a third and final yellow, this one to Boniek García in the 82nd minute. Sporting KC then gained their only yellow card, with Zusi getting a yellow card in the 91st minute.

Three minutes of stoppage time were added to the second half, which resulted in Houston decreasing Sporting KC’s lead. The Dynamo scored their second and final goal in the 93rd minute, scored by Maximiliano Urruti after SKC went for goal and did not run out the clock.

SKC is off until June 12th when they return to play Austin FC.
