Texans safety Justin Reid has partnered with Kid's Meals and HEB to provide Thanksgiving meals for 100 families.
The families will receive $120 HEB gift cards, which will be hand delivered by the Texans' mascot, Toro, and DJ Big Reeks to families on Tuesday. Reid isn't attending due to COVID-19 safety protocols, but a video he made will be played for families at their homes.
Reid helped 10 families last year through Big Brothers Big Sisters for his annual Thanksgiving Grocery Grab.
"This year has been a tough year for so many families due to COVID," Reid said. "Understanding so many people have lost their jobs, not knowing how to feed your family can just be another stressor. It is important for me to give back to take care of my community and I have seen first-hand the work that Kid’s Meals has done and I just want to join their mission.”
Reid has donated over $50,000 to charitable organizations, including Candle Lighters, Kid’s Meals and others.
