Endangering child: Warrensville Center Road
A woman ran from loss prevention at Walmart Oct. 6 after she was approached about a theft, valued at $112. In doing so, she left behind her 3-year-old child.
The child was taken to the loss prevention office and his grandmother soon arrived. She explained that she had been shopping with her daughter, but was not aware that her daughter had failed to scan all of her items at the self-checkout.
The child was subsequently picked up by his father. A warrant for theft and child endangerment was entered for the arrest of the 32-year-old Cleveland woman.
Domestic violence: Verona Road
A woman, 47, reported Oct. 4 that her child had found nude pictures and sex videos of herself on her phone and sent them to the child’s father’s phone.
The mother said the photos were kept hidden on her phone in a folder she had titled “hidden.”
The man, who had come to the home to visit their sick child, said the woman became enraged and took his cell phone and threw it against the outside of her home, cracking the screen.
The woman could not show proof of the sent photos from her phone and suggested that the man had deleted the messages after sending them.
The man chose not to pursue domestic violence charges, despite saying that she had also slapped his face.
Violation of protection order: Charlton Road
While conducting a traffic stop Oct. 9, officers discovered that the driver had an active protection order in place, with the protected person being a passenger in the vehicle.

He said it was followed by an address, which officers determined was at the Parkview Garden apartments.
They responded there and spoke to a woman, who said that a man who had previously been trespassed from the location had unlawfully entered her apartment and was hiding in a closet.
The East Cleveland man, 34, refused to exit the closet until a Shaker Heights K-9 was deployed. He was subsequently charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.
Theft: Mayfield Road
A shoplifter ran from Giant Eagle Oct. 5, but was located by officers on an adjacent street.
The Cleveland man, 41, had previously been banned from the store due to a shoplifting incident. He was charged with trespassing and for the $270 theft of meat and seafood.

A woman reported Oct. 5 that her car had been broken into the previous night while parked at Marco’s Pizza. She said $6 cash, a debit card and medication were stolen.
