Fayetteville, N.C. — Firefighters were called to a fire at at an animal feed store in Fayetteville on Saturday.
The fire started at Family Farm Store in the 500 block of Person Street just before 6 p.m.
Firefighters said they saw fire coming from a large building across the street from Fayetteville Fire Station 1. When they arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the store.
A heavy fire was reported inside the store, which had also extended into the attic, firefighters said.
The animal feed store also sells young livestock, such as chickens. Firefighters said the number of animals inside the store and their condition was unknown.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
