FLORENCE, Ala. –

Down 2-1, Eastern Kentucky won two straight sets to beat North Alabama, 3-2, on Friday.
 
EKU won by scores of 17-25, 28-26, 20-25, 25-16 and 15-10.
 
Sarah Mitchell had a team-best 13 kills to go along with 17 digs and four aces for the Colonels.  Molly Michalak added 11 kills.  Mikayla Logan had nine kills, just one error, a .571 attack percentage and four block assists.  Sydney Schoen had a match-best 20 digs.  Audrey Eurton contributed 34 assists, 10 digs and five kills.
 
A kill from Sarah Mitchell in the third set got Eastern Kentucky within one, 18-17, but North Alabama scored six of the next seven to gain control.  Katy Floyd's kill ended the set, 25-20, and gave the Lions a 2-1 lead.
 
The fourth match changed early with an 8-0 run by the Colonels.  A kill by Anna Griggs put UNA in front 5-4.  Logan registered a kill on the next series to start the match-changing run.  A kill from Michalak and a North Alabama error capped it, putting the visitors ahead 12-5.  A kill by Eurton put EKU on top 21-12.  Block assists from Eurton and Reilly Lowe, followed by a Lion attack error, finished off the set 25-16 in favor of the Colonels.
 
Eastern Kentucky (7-19, 4-8 ASUN) continued its strong play into the fifth, jumping out to a 5-1 lead after block assists from Logan and Eurton.  Six straight allowed the Colonels to stretch it to a 12-4 lead.  The set and match ended with block assists from Michalak and Lowe.
 
The Lions led from start to finish in the first set.  With EKU down two, 14-12, after a kill from Anna Purichia, North Alabama scored eight unanswered to take control.  A kill from Floyd capped the run and put the home team in front by 10, 22-12.
 
Eastern Kentucky took a four-point lead, 23-19, in the second set before the Lions staged a late comeback.  Four straight from UNA tied it.  The Colonels had set point at 24-23, 25-24 and 26-25 before finally finishing it off.  A kill from Molly Michalak won the set, 28-26, and tied the match 1-1.
 
UNA had 13 more kills, 61-48, than the Colonels.  However, EKU had six fewer errors, seven more digs and four more blocks.
 
Floyd recorded a match-best 21 kills for North Alabama (8-17, 2-10 ASUN).
 
The Colonels play at Jacksonville State on Saturday.  The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET.
