Andy Reid didn’t use his trademark face shield for Super Bowl 2021 and Twitter had a field day with its replacement.
The Kansas City Chiefs head coach was shown on CBS’ broadcast wearing a puffed-out, team-logoed mask with a strap at the bottom while chewing on the sidelines prior to the game at Raymond James Stadium against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Reid had switched from the face shield — which became a fogged-up meme at the beginning of the season — to a similar mask later in the season.
The image sparked Twitter users to question if Reid was wearing a feed bag, similar to what a horse may use. The 62-year-old Reid, who was likely just chewing gum, is trying to win his second straight Super Bowl.
