GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Alissa Scattino, of Girard, is making her third trip to the Super Bowl, and while many can’t afford the ticket, she gets in for free.
Scattino will work behind the scenes, helping events run smoothly.
“I’m super excited. I’m definitely rooting for the 49ers. The Chiefs have been in it way too many times,” she said.
Scattino went to Baldwin Wallace to play soccer with her sister, but she has found new goals to focus on. She is studying sports management and last year worked at the Masters and College Football Playoff.
Twenty-five Baldwin Wallace students, including Scattino, are going to the Super Bowl this year and will have various assignments all week working behind the scenes.
“And then during the game, we’re actually able to, you know, find a spot in the stadium and just really watch the game until the end of the fourth quarter, which is super cool,” she said.
Scattino will graduate in May and then start working toward her master’s degree. The trips to these big events have led to networking and learning about what a career in sports is all about.
“It is focused on these experimental learning trips because this is really what shows you if you want to get into sport, what you don’t want to get into, and I think, you know, after four years, I really have a good understanding of what I want to do like as a career, so I’m super grateful for BW,” she said.
Scattino has been to Super Bowls in Los Angeles and Phoenix. Going to Vegas now makes this an extra special event, but Scattino is not caught up in the hype.
“I hate to say it, but I really am not a Taylor Swift fan, but I’m excited to see her. Hopefully, I see her. She probably will be there. So it’d be fun,” she said.
Scattino leaves Tuesday morning for the Super Bowl. Her work schedule does include some free time, so she can enjoy the big event, too.
