LA CROSSE (WKBT) — HorseSense of La Crosse is hoping to raise $8,100 to feed nine therapy horses throughout the winter.
The funds will cover the cost of hay and grain for the next six months. Each of Horse Sense’s therapy horses eats one bale of hay per day, in addition to grain throughout the season.
A donation of $5 will provide a day’s worth of food for one horse.
“We will go through nine bales of hay per day this winter,” said Samantha Hall, HorseSense’s executive director. “That means we’re spending at least $45 each day to feed our horses. This does not include the cost of grain. Every dollar counts–especially now. Our organization continues to struggle financially as a result of COVID-19. We need all the help we can get to ensure the care of our beloved horses.”
All donations are tax deductible and can be made easily online. To learn more about this campaign and make a donation, visit www.horsesensewi.org. Additional details can also be found on the organization’s Facebook page: @horsesensewi.
