LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – A young group of community members are ensuring fewer people go hungry in the area.
Working together and with family, a confirmation group designed a Little Free Pantry, which was installed earlier today outside of Christ Episcopal Church.
The children’s project originally had them working with local elementary schools, but due to the pandemic, they needed to change their plans.
The church would normally be open for daily food assistance, and with the start of the Little Free Pantry, the group of young helpers and the church are still able to help their community.
“We thought this was a good idea because there’s a lot of need in our community and we thought it might be a good idea to help out a little bit,” said Lauren Domroese, who is a part of Christ Episcopal Church’s 2020 confirmation group.
