JACKSON, MI – Lefty’s Cheesesteak has officially opened, giving Jacksonians a new way to feed their hunger.
The metro Detroit-based cheesesteak shop opened its doors July 30 at 808 W. Monroe St., making this the 35th franchise location. The new location has been busy since opening, said Amrieh Eljahmi, district manager.
“It’s going splendid, very busy and very popular right now,” she said. “We run a good team here – they’re very talented and they caught on quick. They work so well as a team, and we get food out as quick as we can with good quality.”
Lefty’s is seeing about 300 customers a day since opening, which has has made it easier to build a relationship with the Jackson community, Eljahmi said.
The most popular item on the menu for is the featured cheesesteak, Eljahmi said It’s made with rib-eye steak, grilled onions and a cheese blend of white American and Swiss. But it’s not a typical cheesesteak, Chief Operating Officer Carlos Guzman previously said.

“We do it differently than any other cheesesteak you’re going to have – we actually make the cheesesteak by mixing the cheese into it,” he said. “It’s not laid on top.”
The restaurant also makes hoagies with flavors like crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos or a McDonald’s Big Mac-inspired sandwich. For customers uninterested in a sandwich, burgers, salads and side items, like fries and corned beef egg rolls, are available.
Lefty’s Cheesesteak is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit the website or call 517-879-2500. Online ordering is available.
