FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools, due to the Coronavirus pandemic opted for no in-person graduation ceremonies this year for its three middle schools.

All three middle schools followed the same procedure for the ceremonies, said Assistant Superintendent of Schools Anne Ludes.

“No outside guests, including parents, due to the pandemic,” said Ludes.

“Students who have chosen to remain remote will participate via Zoom,” said Ludes.

But several parents who contacted the digital news outlet thought they could watch their son or daughter live, but that is not the case either.

“All ceremonies are being recorded,” said Ludes. “The videos will be edited to remove the students whose families requested a media opt out and then will be shared with parents for their viewing.”

The Public School District’s spokesperson Rochelle Santos said “the recordings and final edits are provided through our partnership with Framingham Education Channel  (FEC) TV. Videos will be edited and shared with families as soon as they are ready.”

Santos estimated the video link will be available in “5-7 days” of the ceremony.

SOURCE asked why Framingham High’s graduation was streamed live, and has not received an answer yet from the public school district.
