TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Possession of cocaine landed a Topeka man behind bars in Shawnee County.
According to the Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office, a 32-year-old male is in custody and facing possession of cocaine charges.
The Sheriff’s Office said a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram pickup truck shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22 near I-470 and SW Burlingame Rd.
During the investigation, deputies found illegal narcotics and the man had a warrant for his arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office said Jose A. Flores, 32, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee Co. Department of Corrections on charges of possession of a stimulant and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as the warrant.
Shawnee Co. Sheriff’s Office noted this incident is still under investigation.
