KC woman behind Topeka bars after passenger allegedly trapped in vehicle - WIBW

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Kansas City woman is behind Topeka bars after it was found she allegedly trapped her passenger inside her car over the weekend.

The Topeka Police Department tells 13 NEWS that around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, emergency crews were called to the Wanamaker Rd. Exit along I-70 with reports of a disturbance.

Officers said they learned that a driver, Natalie Zinai, 30, of Kansas City, had trapped a passenger in her vehicle and would not let them out. The passenger and Zinai did know each other before the incident.

Eventually, TPD said it was able to find the suspect vehicle and successfully stopped the driver. Zinai was questioned during the stop.

As a result of the investigation, Zinai was arrested and booked into the Shawnee Co. Dept. of Corrections on:

  • Aggravated kidnapping
  • Domestic battery

As of Monday, Zinai remains behind bars on a $75,000 bond with a court appearance set for 4 p.m. on Dec. 21.
