City of Salem recognizes graduating seniors for service to community
The city of Salem honored 17 graduating seniors for their service to the community. One of the seniors participated in a district-wide shoe collection competition that she credits to her path to leadership. Another completed 60 hours of volunteering through a summer leadership program.
Just 120,000 more Oregonians need to be vaccinated for most pandemic restrictions to end
Gov. Kate Brown announced on Friday that the state was progressing towards her goal of vaccinating 70% of Oregonians. Meeting the goal, which could be met as soon as June 21, would result in most pandemic restrictions being lifted. However, public health officials say the pandemic continues among unvaccinated Oregonians and life won't entirely go back to normal.
