Time to break down the Philadelphia Eagles’ snap counts from their Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

OFFENSE

• Jamon Brown logged his first start for the Eagles at right guard. He was awful. They need to get him off the field. Move Nate Herbig over and start Sua Opeta at left guard. Or maybe Matt Pryor will be cleared to return soon. Brown is not the answer.
• Carson Wentz, Jason Kelce, and Nate Herbig are the only Eagles players who haven’t missed an offensive snap this season.
• Greg Ward only saw three targets and had two receptions for 19 yards. But one of those catches was a pretty impressive 13-yard grab along the sideline.
• The Eagles took too long to get Travis Fulgham involved; he didn’t have a target until 2:19 in the second quarter! Saying he’s “covered” isn’t a great excuse since he can go up and get the ball. Fulgham was ultimately targeted 10 times for six receptions, 75 yards, and one touchdown (plus a drawn 49-yard pass interference penalty). He’s up to 18 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns since first playing in Week 4. ESPN’s projection has Fulgham on pace to finish with 757 yards and eight touchdowns. For perspective, Alshon Jeffery had 789 yards and nine touchdowns with the Eagles in 2017. FEED TRAVIS FULGHAM!
• Jack Driscoll had to get carted off the field, which doesn’t bode well for his injury status. Brett Toth came in to take his first ever regular season NFL snaps at right tackle.
• Zach Ertz was targeted 10 times but only had four receptions for 33 yards. That brings him up to nine receptions for 48 yards (5.3 average) in his past three games. Ertz and Wentz just clearly aren’t in sync. Pro Football Focus deemed only five of Ertz’s 10 targets catchable. Ertz had to leave the game early due to an ankle injury.
• Richard Rodgers is playing more much than you’d ideally like to see. He did have a nice 16-yard grab to set up 1st-and-goal on the Eagles’ potential game-tying drive.
• John Hightower’s three-game streak of leading all Eagles receivers in snaps played was broken in this one. Hightower obviously had an inexcusable drop early in the game, bringing him up to his third drop on 19 targets this season. It’s strange because the rookie didn’t drop a single pass in training camp. HIghtower DID have a 50-yard reception, which was good to see. But he’s either just not very good or just not really ready to be playing quite as much as he is.
• Boston Scott saw an increase in playing time with Miles Sanders suffering a knee injury. Scott had four total offensive touches for nine yards from scrimmage. The Eagles’ backup running back options aren’t very inspiring.
• Miles Sanders’ nine carries went for 118 yards thanks to his 74-yard run. Hopefully he’s not seriously hurt.
• Quez Watkins did not log a single target. Don’t even remember seeing him out there. Still seeking his first NFL catch.
• J.J. Arcega-Whiteside often draws a lot of criticism for who he’s not and that’s understandable. He’s been a real disappoint as a second-round pick. To his credit, though, he’s a really good blocking receiver! We’ve seen as much on both long Sanders runs in the past two games. Credit to JJAW for hustling and recovering Sanders’ fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. JJAW also caught a two-point conversion to bring the Eagles within one possession on Philly’s penultimate drive. Better than nothing.
• Corey Clement has played 49 offensive snaps this year. He has 13 total touches for 32 yards (2.5 average). Not getting it done.
• Jalen Hurts had two runs for 23 yards and one reception for three yards. His 20-yard run gave the Eagles a noticeable spark and their first first down of the game late in the second quarter. Overall, the Eagles generated 109 yards on plays with two quarterbacks. The coaching staff might as well continue to use the No. 53 overall pick more often.
• Opeta was the sixth offensive lineman in heavy packages.
• Jason Croom (WHO?) caught a wide open touchdown on his only snap. Incredibly efficient!

DEFENSE

• Rodney McLeod still hasn’t missed a snap this year.
• Nathan Gerry and Alex Singleton tied for the lead in tackles with nine each. Singleton saw his most playing time ever with Duke Riley out.
• With Avonte Maddox out, Nickell Robey-Coleman saw playing time on the outside with Jalen Mills playing more at safety.
• Fletcher Cox has 1.5 sacks in six games this year.
• Brandon Graham ranks tied for fourth in the NFL in sacks with five. He had two against the Ravens. Gotta love BLG’s motor.
• Javon Hargrave has now failed to log a stat in three out of five games played this season. Doesn’t seem great!
• Derek Barnett has been kept quiet since his good game against the 49ers. Zero sacks, zero quarterback hits, and zero tackles for loss over the past two weeks.
• Will Parks saw a good chunk of playing time in his Eagles debut.
• Josh Sweat made the most out of his playing time as the third defensive end. Three tackles for loss and one pass deflection. Gotta like his hustle.
• Shaun Bradley saw a bigger role at linebacker with Riley hurt. He only logged one tackle.
• Malik Jackson has played pretty well this year. He had 2.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, and one sack that knocked the Ravens out of field goal range in this one. Maybe should be playing more often at the expense of Hargrave.
• Thank God Vinny Curry is back. What would the Eagles have done without his one solo tackle? Totally worth losing Casey Toohill for that.
• Genard Avery is back to being the fifth guy in the defensive end rotation with Curry back. Avery logged a pass deflection and no other stats.
• Davion Taylor saw his first NFL defensive snaps. BGN’s Ben Natan wrote more about his performance.
• Elijah Riley saw his first NFL defensive snaps as a free safety on a few plays.

SPECIAL TEAMS

• Hakeem Butler was active for his first game since joining the Eagles. He saw some playing time as a gunner on special teams.
• K’Von Wallace had to leave the game early after getting hurt on punt coverage. Didn’t look good how he walked off the field real slowly in pain.
• Jason Huntley was back on kick return but did not field one.

DID NOT PLAY
