MARGATE, Fla. – Margate police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who has not been seen since Monday night, and who left behind a note at her home stating that she “needed a break from life.”
According to authorities, Lakeisha Scott left her home in the 6500 block of Northwest First Court between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Monday, but officers are unsure whether she left on foot or in a car.
Police said Lakeisha has a history of being hospitalized under the Baker Act and has suicidal tendencies. She suffers from severe depression and did not take her medication with her, authorities said.
Lakeisha was last seen wearing a white tank top, black shorts and a purple/gray sweater.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Margate Police Department at 954-764-4347.
